If we could be certain that this life will last for a long time we could afford to be carefree and unconcerned, but every day we hear of people dying unexpectedly of heart attacks or strokes, in car crashes, and so forth. Human life is very uncertain.
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Universal Compassion
Daycourse with Kelsang Rinzin
Saturday, May 3, 9:00am - 1:00pm
Learn the tools to start, make progress on, and complete our spiritual goals. Many times with good intention start toward a goal, but find difficulty in following our goal through to completion. In this half-day course we will come to understand how to apply four powers that support our effort: aspiration, steadfastness, joy, relaxation. With proper application of the four powers, we will accomplish all our goals.
"Among virtuous collections, effort is supreme.
With effort we can accomplish all virtuous qualities,
With effort we can accomplish a peaceful body and mind,
With effort we can accomplish mundane and supramundane
attainments,
With effort we can obtain the pleasures of samsara,
With effort we can take rebirth in a Pure Land,
With effort we can be freed from delusions such as the view of the
transitory collection, and attain liberation,
With effort we can attain great enlightenment."
