Meditation Retreats in Fort Collins

These retreats are traditional Buddhist retreats that involve prayers and silent meditation. Many of the retreats listed on this page will not be guided, so they are a little more advanced than the retreats listed on the Special Courses page. These retreats help us to accumulate merit (develop good karma), purify negativity, receive inspiring blessings, and meditate on the stages of the path to enlightenment.  Everyone is warmly welcomed, regardless of experience.

Chanted Meditations

Chanted meditations (pujas): The word puja is Sanskrit for offering. A Puja combines chanting and visualization with meditation.

Pujas are a special method for ensuring success in our meditation by purifying negativity, accumulating merit, and receiving blessings.

Everyone is welcome, and there is no charge.

There is a daily program of pujas at the Center at 1700 S. College, Fort Collins. Visit the online calendar for details.

Prayers for World Peace

with Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Rinzin

Sundays 10:30am-12:00pm Drop in any Sunday.

Our Sunday morning Prayers for World Peace class is an opportunity to develop a warm and loving heart. We all need to learn to cherish one and other because this mind of love brings happiness to ourselves and everyone we come into contact with. In essence, learning to cherish others is the best method for establishing peace in the world, and for our own peace of mind in particular.

Each week Gen Rinzin will cover a small section from the book 8 Steps to Happiness. This book shows us how to cherish others as well as how to remove the inner obstacles to love and compassion. Topics include: how to recognize our delusions without identifying with them, how to see the kindnes and good qualities in others, how to practice humility and how to change and set positive views and intentions. Each class includes a breathing meditation, a short teaching and chanted prayers for world peace.

Dharma for Kids is held simultaneously. This is a great opportunity for families to come to the Center.

Meditation for World Peace is offered freely and supported by donations.
