On November 19, 2011, Kelsang Thaye, a western Buddhist nun, gave a free public talk on the healing power of cherishing others at the Bud Werner Memorial Library. The talk was well attended despite the foot of snow that had been falling all day. We look forward to another talk in the near future!

Prayer is a mental action. Mental actions are more powerful than physical and verbal actions, because physical and verbal actions depend on mental actions--setting a mental intention. Sometimes we cannot help others in a practical way, but we can still help with our thoughts and prayers. For example, although we alone cannot bring about peace when two nations are at war, we can nevertheless feel concern for all those involved and pray that peace will soon be restored. Indirectly, we can help to solve many problems. Come learn how to make our prayers powerful!
