Learn how to meditate on the clarity of your very own subtle mind, according to Buddha’s Mahamudra teachings.
This retreat begins with a Friday evening introductory talk on the nature of our mind, clarity, as well as how to meditate on the clarity of our very subtle mind, our root mind that is our Buddha nature. There will be opportunity for discussion and questions in the talk.
The Saturday that follows is a day of guided meditation on the very subtle mind, according to the instructions in The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra. Each session includes a brief talk, prayers and guided meditation.
Through training in this clear and joyful meditation on our root mind we gain the ability to easily pacify our mental disturbances and distractions, and we create powerful causes to experience deep and stable inner peace and concentration.

The talk and retreat will be based on the instructions in The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra and Clear Light of Bliss by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. The retreat sessions will be accompanied by the prayers The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra.
Trina Gunther is a long-time practitioner of Modern Kadampa Buddhism. She has studied and practiced in Dharma centers under Gen-la Dekyong and Gen Rigpa, and she has worked as Education Program Coordinator at centers in Los Angeles and the UK. She is an inspiring example of a lay practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism, and brings with her a wealth of practical experience of putting Buddha's teachings into practice amidst a busy daily life.
