Thanks to your generosity over the past two years, and through our founder Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s blessings, Heruka Center has experienced significant development in 2023, including transforming into a Kadampa Meditation Center (KMC). This means we are now more connected to a mutually-supportive network of New Kadampa Tradition Dharma centers throughout the world, and as a KMC, we will be able to invite Guest Teachers and have Post-Festival Retreats, amongst other opportunities!
We have been able to improve our visitor and volunteer experience by upgrading our in-person registration system, and expand our means of online reach through starting a Meetup group (find us if you are on Meetup!). We have also expanded our team of managers, volunteers and teachers - of special note, gratefully welcoming Kelsang Evam as our new Education Program Coordinator and Tim Salemno as our new Tech Manager.
With your continued support, we have some wonderful developments planned for 2024 that we are delighted to share. We plan to bring two visiting teachers to Fort Collins, including our Deputy Spiritual Director, Gen-la Kelsang Jampa. We are also looking to improve our outreach with public talks throughout the area and a satellite branch class in one of the neighboring communities. Moreover, we plan to expand our education programs to be able to offer study of the full extent of Venerable Geshe-la’s books.
Our Center completely depends on class fees, memberships and donations to operate. If you or your loved ones have enjoyed the offerings of Heruka KMC and are looking forward to more classes, workshops, and retreats in 2024, we hope you will make a 100% tax-deductible contribution to our Year End Giving Drive today. Giving to your Dharma center creates so much good fortune because it directly helps the people in this region to find lasting inner peace in these troubled times.
Our funding raising goal for this year is $5,000. Your contribution will help Heruka Center meet its general running expenses and support the exciting plans we have for growth next year!
How to donate:
With much gratitude,
Adrienne Grudzien, Administrative Director of Heruka Kadampa Meditation Center
"Kadam Dharma is like a mala [prayer beads] made of gold. Just as everyone, even those who do not use a mala, would be happy to accept a gift of a gold mala because it is made of gold, in a similar way, even non-Buddhists, can receive benefit from Kadam Dharma. This is because there is no difference between Kadam Dharma and people’s everyday experiences." Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Modern Buddhism
We are a non-profit organization and we rely on your help to continue making Dharma available to the people of Northern Colorado, Wyoming and beyond. The Center is entirely locally supported--a truly local organization. Your participation is valuable and important – a gift of any size, no matter how small, makes an impact! Making a donation to Heruka Center is a fantastic way to practice the Perfection of Giving.
This is our community service, giving people the means for developing inner peace. When someone attends a class or meditation, they leave more peaceful, and they interact with our community in a more positive way. In this way, the activities of Heruka Center benefit our whole community. When you support Heruka Center, you are supporting the peace and happiness of friends, family and community, both now and in the future.
Thank you for supporting meditation and Buddhism in Fort Collins and the surrounding areas!
