When someone dies, although their body stays in this world and is buried or cremated, their mind goes to another life, like a bird leaving one nest to fly to another. With this basic understanding of rebirth, we can practice 'powa' to ensure that our loved ones find lasting peace. 'Powa' means transference of consciousness.
In this workshop, you can learn how to engage in a Powa Ceremony to help those who have recently deceased. Through these prayers and our compassion, we send or transfer the consciousness of someone who has recently died to a Pure Land of Buddha where they no longer experience any suffering.
Heruka Center offers a monthly Powa Ceremony in which we can benefit everyone in this world who has recently deceased. Discover this beautiful practice and the power of compassion and reliance upon holy beings such as Buddha Avalokiteshvara. No previous experience is necessary.
