By going for refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, we enter Buddhism and start to establish a sanctuary of refuge from suffering in our heart. Through this regular practice, we gradually become permanently protected from suffering by establishing irreversible Dharma realizations of wisdom and compassion in our mind.
Going for refuge is one of the four great preliminary guide retreats in which we gain precious experience of this practice, building the faith and confidence we need to conquer our ordinary fears and delusions and make swift progress on the path to enlightenment.
Resident Teacher Kerrin Perniciaro will give an introduction to this retreat on Thursday, March 19th, 6-8pm. All sessions on Friday & Saturday will be guided by Kerrin. Followed by unguided sessions on Sunday & Monday. All self-guided sessions will be using the prayers Essence of Good Fortune and include offering a long mandala.
While this in-depth retreat is part of the Teacher Training Program, everyone is welcome to participate. If you are new to this retreat, please attend the Intro Talk and/or the day of guided sessions on Friday & Saturday. All other sessions will be unguided.
